I like a shaper that will influence you through distain for your own ideas. I'm waiting for a board right now, I asked him for a model and he said great and then said "I can make you this but you drive a lot with your front foot, you wont like this and will get the shits, end up selling it and be back asking for a something else, now have a look at this its a got a stack of performance, a neutral wide point and it will be a good board for you."....I said ""yeh righto" he said "Phew, you will dig this, trust me (you clueless mongaloid)"

Average shaper wouldn't have a clue how you surf so would just start with the first bit and end with the last bit.
I.E........disdain for your ideas........trust me(you clueless moron).

Always been keen to get one of his boards. I've had one of his bonzers - very nice.

Just bit the bullet and put in an order for a custom board with PCC

[Board Requirement]
Wanting a board primarily for head-high to double overhead reefs, points, and beach-breaks - a good performing all-rounder, that can be carved hard on rail with full rail turns. Board needs to have good performance in steep sections for top to bottom, as well as some element of glide/trim/coverage over flatter sections. I love boards that flow and make surfing feel clean and easy.

[Board Specs]
•6’4 x 20 x 2 5/8 rounded pin
•Fuller classic late 70’s outline, still sleek and refined
•Moderate even rocker, I don’t want a board that surfs too flat
•Good volume throughout but not corky
•Vee-Bottom with double concave between the fins
•Single 8.5” fin Greenough
•Strong construction, built to last.

If it's a 4a, they're thinnish at the tip. Flared base and narrowish tip, drivy as hell but will turn sweetly. I've got a 7.5 and an 8.5.

What's in your DVS all rounder? You should try one, they're epic imho. I used one in my old 9'1", completely loosened it up with no loss in drive at all.

Shouldn't be. It's going to be a straight single not a 2+1. Just got out of the surf on my 6'0 single, it runs an 8 inch flex fin set mid box, it's plenty loose and has heaps of hold, so an 8.5 inch fin should be fine in a 6'4. It'll be for waves up to double overhead, reefs etc. so I want it to hold in tight

I ripped a side fin out of my minimal in my early surfing days. Ripped the other side out and filled the hole with aryldite. Was fun til I got a decent wave and went to do a big bottom turn. Face first wipeout. Bought a new board not long after haha

About ten mins worth of final tidy up needed, then ready for colours and laminating

Jade green. Purple rails. Ochre gold pinline. All dirty colours, not stark or bright.

Cut lapped glassing
