bored with board try cardboard board!

Post by otway1949 » Tue May 22, 2012 11:31 am

This is way beyond a Roy, this is recycling at a beginning of a new process for boards.
Watch the video, enjoy, and drink a slab to produce the raw materials.

These boards have been around for a few years now.......good concept at first glance , but it takes a lot of wood to make cardboard !

I live near a wood chip abomination, and it does take a lot of wood, but cardboard can be made from................used cardboard and since it is going into surfboards it doesn't have to be food grade.
Would love to see used plastic as a bigger resource for raw plastic than it is now.
Just the monetary cost factor tends to make it less viable :?

I always think of how many ways I could screw up the construction when I see stuff like that. I watched the video a while ago and could just imagine how bad it would look if it got saggy while you were glassing. Plus wouldn't it fill up with water if it got a ding?

It seems that the glassing is a major drawback , all sorts of under cloth tried and failed. Oh well there is probably someway that will work somewhere!
