New years quiver cull!!

Post by Beerfan » Sun Jan 01, 2012 12:14 pm

Been wanting a twin keel again for ages. Yesterday at work, while getting into the whole "new years" bullshit, i thought "fcuck it", and so today have listed my 2 midlengths on ebay. Was hard, because they are both great, but since i got the 9'1'', i just surf it mostly. So, depending if they sell haha, i'm hoping to get myself a twin keel fish. Lis outline, flat and wide, but with modern rails etc. Thinking of an EPS/epoxy Dick Van Straalen. I'll see if they sell first though. Bit sad, the 7'10'' i've had a few years and i've had some cracking surfs on it, and the 7'2'', i've only had it a short while, but i enjoyed it too.

Next 7 days will be slow haha

Got some watchers on both. Hoping one of them will bid on each. Selling boards on evilbay kinda sucks, coz you start thinking about ya newy before you even have the cash!. Keen to try some new tech. Hoping i can get josh to make a modern retro fish in his sandwich secret sauce tech, keels of course!. Either that or a wide chunky round tail, less than 6'3'' and at least 21 wide, 40 litres worth hahaha. Gotta try something new!. If i only sell one, then i'll buy some epoxy and glass my EPS semi fish.

Hey JaM71 - I'm south of sydney - so not easy to get a board to the goldy.

Anyhoo - Still not entirely sure I want to sell the fish - had two very nice little surfs on it the last few days.

Hey Beery - did ya get rid of your middies?

Not too good mate, my 7'10'' sold, but the other 2 don't seem to have much interest. I've never had a board not sell on ebay, and i price them to sell so im kinda spewin. Really want a new keel fish, and i wanna try a JD board. If they both sell, im sweet, but if only one sells i'll be a bit too far away for a JD. Fingers crossed!.

Culled two and replaced with two Mores. The little McCoy on the left most likely to go to a new home sometime later in the year.

Yeah mate, custom Potbelly 5'6 x 22 x 3, so it's probably as close to an Astron Zot in a thruster as you'll get. Geoff nicknamed it "The Powerball". To be honest I haven't really worked it out, I think it needs someone of better skillset than me to get it really zapping around nicely. I've had some truly inspired moments on it and then next time it spurns my affections.... a lot to do with the foot placement and weight distribution and once I'm up, the feet grow roots into the deck.
