Re: Ghost 11
Who are you and what is this crane BS? If you can't carry the board you are not going to be able to ride it.
One 'test' ride isn't such agood idea, it takes me a few sessions to get into a new board and I'm used to riding them already.
I'm not saying no but best to email me [email protected] so we can suss each other out.
thanks for the offer by the way.

Re: Ghost 11
Whatever, no doubt you'll have access to plenty of other boards when you get to the North Shore.Natho wrote:"suss each other out" um I feel a bit ill right now. Roy this aint a dating site mate.
Do you think you could hire a car just using the name 'Natho' and a smart alec attitude?
if you want to do it you have to register with your name and contact details that's all.
Re: Ghost 11
Stop running Roy, just let him do it.

Re: Ghost 11
The policy hasn't changed since the beginning, anyone who wants to ride the board needs to register with their name and contact details. The information isn't published unless the rider gives permission to do so.Dingus wrote:Stop running Roy, just let him do it.
If 'Natho' can't comply then he can ride something else.

Re: Ghost 11
Well how do you know he isn't prepared to do that? Natho is prepared to give it a crack and is displaying a bit of determination, it's your immediate standoffish behaviour that has threatened to colour the whole episode, so how about you relax and be happy that another surfer is interested in your work. Should all and sundry come crawling up to you with a lowered gaze and cap in hand in order to be acceptable to drink from the Cup of Roy?

Re: Ghost 11
Shutup mate the conditions are easy to satisfy and regarding the 'standoffish attitude' Natho called the board "the f*cking thing" so he gets a reply which suits his attitude... he should learn some manners.
If he really wants to do it then he probably can.

Alright old côck, keep the panties on you, you may as well play it true to character. The veneer of Roy is starting to crack, you must have relatives over for the holidays.

Re: Ghost 11
Incorrect, I just require that anyone who borrows the board supply their name and contact details.

Re: Ghost 11
Once I get Natho's details I'll email them to Donald who has the board in Haleiwa and give Donald's contact email to Natho.
Donald's a good chap and has a beautiful place as well as some interesting old boards, I'm sure that Natho would enjoy meeting him.
No expectations re. wave size or whatever, just REMEMBER to do the vent up upon entering the water and undo it afterwards ( Garrett forgot).

Re: Ghost 11
I use them but prefer hand operated vents, and we won't be installing any more goretex vents in the future.Legion wrote:
Why not use the GoreTex vents that everyone else has been using for years?
A goretex vent is certainly inadequate in terms of capacity for a board like the 13 footer, they are also insufficiently durable or reliable for a long term board tour in my opinion.
Saying that everyone else has been using them is also incorrect, many other vent options are used.

Re: Ghost 11
You go ahead and use what you like, and i'll do the same.
In fact many buidlers of hollow wooden surfboards use manually operated vents. My experience is frequent failure with goretex vents and zero failure with manually operated ones.
Each to their own .
