Hey Topher, was in there last Friday picking up a board. It won't be trading as sixounce anymore. Not moving, or closing up. Ring Taylor, he'll fill you in on the story. Some of those mandalas and mccallums are amazing looking boards, i would just need to sell a kidney to fund one....

Yeah, there will still be a store there but Ben won't be associated with it. I gather it will be called 'The Corner Store" or similar. I guess the Corner Store will develop their own website soon enough.

Thats a pity. Ben must have invested a lot of energy moving over. Always had great boards where ever the premises. I guess theres a lot of board stores in Manly.

Maybe not a kidney but a Thomo mph could help...
So what's the story?
What happened to six ounce?
Did the metric conversion finally catch up and a change to grams was too expensive?

Hey Beery - it's a futures set-up and i found that some YUs in front and the V2 QF4s in the back do the trick - but will continue to experiment. Maybe try some sidebites etc? Had this one built stronger than the last, hemp deck and it has a thicker carbon rail. You can feel the extra weight compared to the first, which was a paper weight! But, i would much prefer a board that can stand a little lip crunching action. Just need some swell now.

My tomo is on evil bay Cuttles - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Tomo-MPH-Sur ... 336a0a5196

As for why Ben departed? Business is a precarious venture........glad that the store will be remaining and Taylor and the rest of guys in the store were very cool indeed. Watched a sweet mandala mini arc swallow tail go out the door and spent too much time feeling up a mcallum stand up spoon.

I have an Almond 'QuadKumber' from 6oz for sale. Near new condition. Beautiful, incredible board.

No dimensions on stringer, it's about 5'11 x 20.5. Fat and wide but with a bit of curve in the rocker.

Scroll down here for pic:

Hey Batoes is that board on the foldout couch where you been told to sleep spending money on new boards like that. Then again it'd be quiter than in the house with all those kids...

Looks nice mate but how does she go?

First new board i've had in a while so i didn't cop it too bad and i sold some to get there. But i was in a good place board wise, until the snap....now i'm back a few steps.....
No waves, as predicted when you get a new board!
Now i'll start thinking of where to go next - Been experimenting on some boards and am thinking of having a chat to Pridmore about a wild concept!

Is there room in that garage for a shaping bay, Batoes? If it's too far out you may have to go it alone with your crazy mutant experiments.

Speaking of boards...
Kookster is there any more boards you need picked up from McCoy's yet? As I'm off to Byron for a few nights tomorrow.
Taking wife and kids so won't be able to bring home any new toy.
Well, never say never right!
Gotta drop into MC's round the corner from McCoys to have a look at his stubbie he's been doing.
Luckily he's on holidays but they have a demo.....yeewww!
May have to drop in to Hooku'pu as well just because DVS has made a new board called....wait for it...the "Cuttlefish".
Have to see what my namesake looks like though it's dexcription says it's "short and wide" so nothing like me at all.
BTW Batoes, how'd that Fibreflex go?
New board looks faassst.

Lordy - could you imagine if i tried to put a shaping bay in that room?....it's changed a bit since you seen it macca, full on kids room, with my weights jammed in the corner now
The fibreflex is a weird board. So lite, in fact at 6'6 it is still lighter than anything else i have. The benefit is it feels very easy to turn on the bigger waves. But, it feels bumps and doesn't actually get into waves that easily?
Anyway - it only comes out when the surf is big, so it does the job.

Now back to the thread: http://theblacksinglefincatastrophe.blogspot.com/
This is where Taylor will be posting some new boards.

The facebook page does say they are closing down and speaking to them its unclear what they are doing, shame I bought a board from them when they were in full swing and it was a fun place to look at stuff and the guys who worked there where passinonate about getting the business up and running, but it seems they have had some owership issues, naming issues (read the blog above "Theblacksinglefin....first statement" and the place doesnt really have the vibe it did.Thats business but a bummer for the customers as well as the guys who work there.
