When is it due (even if) in Newie? I'm heading to over to the States on 14th July.
Cheers Benno

NC now has the board, interested to see what he thinks of it, hopefully he'll get some fun and suitable waves to test her out in....

OK here is my take after having about a dozen surfs in varying conditions but nothing like the quality SS got
I am 83Kg

the board Iis remarkably similar to the late 70's Crozier Slab Kneeboard my mate rode for a while --when we were kids

For me the board is NOT a groveller for small clean fat days.
It is not very easy to get it around the line up with significant chop or rips either (short & wide??)

The thickness through the board (at around 3 inches?) I felt a bit disconnected with the wave
Much less so when the size and power picked up- then its like a turbo charged magic carpet

With a litlle power in the wave its a different beast -- it really projects forward out of bottom turns with a lot of speed, and in the pocket a little bit of extra pressure on the backfoot and it actualy whips around and accelerates out of the turn
Hollow barrel sections the DS loves em (only had a hand full of semi close out, sand filled low tiders) It finds overdrive and holds a high line as good or better that anything I can remember.- No sign of that wide tail sliding or slipping in my hands. :D

Mark - thanks heaps for getting the board to me, The Sim really shines when their is a bit of power behind it and some steepness to the face. it is a whole lot of fun - :D

I think for me personally to get a little MORE out of the design I would like to see it a little longer and a bit finer on the rail

Lets see what NC does with it in the face of the expected swell jump this weekend

that one was actually meant to be a 5'4" so it is a bit shorter than originally planned...and it was only the 5th or 6 th one I did, done alot since then and have refined them quite a bit and your feedback is spot on . I have also slightly reduced the rocker so they drive better and get up and go with less effort or power from the wave......l actually have another design similar targetting the real small, gutless stuff, but I ride mine when there's a bit of push or run to them...but seems alot of people think they are for grovel, bit like the fish, people think they are for shitty waves coz they are wide maybe....anyway, thanks again..... 8)

Where do you live Topher? I'm at Manly but head down to Cronulla regularly. After I've ridden the board it'll be easy for me to drop it off down there.

Keen as mate. I'll reluctantly wait my turn though.
