long reef all weekend on the high tide... classic logging waves on 2 banks with lefts and rights into a rip. Soo clean and so loggable.

the weekend just gone was a classic example of the right equipment. had a real fun surf on my keel fish on saturday, but yesterday was too small for even that.

saw an old digger get some real nice knee high rides on a log at curly yesterday arvo, had a peak (albeit tiny) to himself, while i was just watching, and the shortboarders that were out were just dropping anchor and waiting, waiting (except those that weighed less than 60 kg)

the lesson is learnt - i am going to buy my first proper log (after 25 years of surfing)

Logging: the riding of heavily glassed single fin "logs", put simply its about trim, noseriding and style. Smooth movements up and down and around the board. Usually done in under shoulder high waves, waist to chest high being the premium ideal.

edit: McTavish for example; a Noosa66 model is a log, a Razor isnt.

yep thats the definition wand. Loggin usually refers to any (either modern or old) longboard with a single fin only which is heavily glassed.
