Legge; dude don't worry about bodysurfing compered to how ya would BB...where there's a will....though I've had bronte going nuts in every which corner...

My Pod fins are my best friend :)

Mate if ya got a pair of fins on and some dutch courage mid and south and north Bronte are fantastic, Coogee needs swell, Bondi has heaps of water moving and kinda sux in terms of crowds and rips, Tama can work but has a c*%t of a rip and u need to have steel undies on for the walk up the beach...Bronte is a fantastic bodybash wave.

U do not need a hand plane anywhere anytime

Maybe www bodysurf australia has what you need but we should assert our presence as watermen on this forum. And there are better breaks than you mention within city suburbs (esp reef breaks if you are game)

^^ No worries puurri. I chose not to mention spots deliberately 8)

Anyway I'm not really sure what I was trying to say at 3 in the morning, had several ales which led to wines after work :D

I think I was saying that my personal preference when bodysurfing is for barrelling shorey-type waves. Hence Br%nt&.

no sweat, reef type breaks guarantee no sand in the speedos thus maybe south side might be the go. PM for some reef options or better through the BA website

Bodysurfing is sick.

I found that the best waves to bodysurf are shallow wedges.

It's so easy to get enough speed and trim. If it's big enough it's fun even just hitting the lip and getting punded into the sand without worrying about your board.

once bust a leash at a left point , and caught the next wave .....about 200 m in the pocket of a 6 ft wave . Insane . Bodysurfing rocks . Usually get into a bit of it over summer .

I love bodysurfing, been doing it for 10 years or so and im 20. Love going across and getting in nice barrels and then getting smashed..
Yesterday was perfect for bodysurfing at avoca, nice sandbank 30m out with 3-4fts coming through.

The best place I have experienced bodysurfing was on new years day 2006 at wamberal/terrigal bend..it went off i was out there for hours!

Have a look at the bodysurfing.com.au website as well all of you enthusiastic bodysurfers.

Good to see there are a few BA members spreading the word.

Been a good bit of swell the last few days too and off-shories! Can't beat weeks and weeks of summer holidays (except there're usually no waves and full-blown nor' easters - minor point).

Fellow waterfolks,

Next SAT is a small 0900HRS meeting at the 'bra for geriatric bodybashers. Those 60 and over (well maybe 50 plus) welcome.

Welcome: derros, cave dwellers, pensioners, sundry superannuated hippies and laid back types.

Unwelcome: gender stereotypes and eastern subs lifestyle pornsters etc. (Glamaramas esp "buffed Brads")

best bodysurfing breaks on this globe

Post by slimbo » Wed Feb 20, 2008 2:59 pm

What about the best bodysurfing breaks you've surfed. Locally mine is Lizzy Beach boatramp. OS Contis and Grande Plage, Biarritz. Lizzy should be on this weeknd with a wind shift to the South and some swell coming down from Qld.

Back home in CA the wedge is always fun. Viper fins, west chest zip wetsuit, good to go.
