Crosswaves

Post by muzza » Wed Jan 24, 2007 9:20 pm

anyone remember that wave called Crosswaves that was featured way back on one of Strohy's videos, I think it was Ballistic? Tully Beevor was surfing it. It's probably the most unique wave I've ever seen and I haven't seen any more since then, which was about 1994. Anyone know about that place?

ask someone to spill the beans and post it up here so next time you go to surf it, oh its crowded!

if you know of this place he's talking about, just keep it to yourself

Yeah, it's a decent wave but that hardly offsets the dangers of surfing the place - known shark breeding ground, rocks that'll slice your feet off and too bloody hard to get to. And it ALWAYS looks better than it is, such a fickle wave (on the one day a year it even actually breaks).

For those considering searching for it I'd give up and stick to Bondi or Manly, still the cleanest, funnest and most versatile waves in NSW.

I live in NZ and have no intention of searching for the place, I just remember Tully ripping it up in that old Chris Stroh flick and have never seen it since. It was insane though
