"I smell a Christian surfers troll"
Not at all Wobbo. Like i said in my first post, its just a question.
The reason I ask is that allot of my mates pray before they go in the water, thats Christian and non Christian alike, so i was just wondering what the consensus was on a broader scale.
So far it would appear that most ppl don’t give it a second thought...

I pray before I go out... mainly just that me and my mates are safe and that we have a rocking good time!
Im not a hugely religious person but I like to do it...
But i rarely think about it when im out, except when I get a massive pounding at gordos or Mystic and hope that I am not going to hit reef or rock!

yeh i find myself having a prayer sometimes, usually just before I go out in big surf for me mates & I to be safe etc.. and have a great time.
If the surf is awesome and the crowds are small I'll often say cheers to "huey", especially after a ripper wave.
Then there is the moment when you notice a set of 5 8ft waves stacking up on the horizon, each one seeming bigger than the previous wave you just barely managed to scratch under. Yep, not ashamed to admit I pray at that moment or when getting held under for a long time.
More often than not if I see a group of surfers heading down the beach to a bank where I'm the only one surfing, I'll pray for em to find somewhere else, and they usually do.
I'm not deeply religous and I don't make a big scene when praying either. Usually just do it in my mind when warming up or something. Thanking God sure beats praising a combination of low & high pressure systems that just happen to be in a qaulity-surf-conducing location.
Anyway that's my take, argue or whatever with its 'logic'. I don't really care.
