kainoa Mcgee just finised equal 7th in the Pipe WQS event!

I was reading somewhere that he only bought his first surfboard 3 years ago. Talk about a natural!

i hung out with kia in sumbawa in 94'......he was gettin waves on a few of my boards back then and he could surf, no prob. ill try and dig some old photos out if i can find em, like ive told other lids, if you can DK, you can automaticaly surf, there is basically no difference.....and after a fuct up session at 12-15ft onshore lakeys, hey came in and hassled me for not goin out (it was absolute DEATH) and the cacked and said it was "just like pipe, but not heavy bra"....a very cool guy.....i hope he makes the CT!

yeh, the DK pretty much means he can surf, and considerring he more or less owns pipe and gets more waves there than most people, obviously he knows it better than most which is an automatic advantage!
