currently i ride a gunther rohn and a recently ordered custom 6'4 PCC short board.
I really like the PCC.The shaper did an excellent job of shaping the board with an extra bit of foam, while still leaving it with nice rails and good form through the nose and tail.

the gunther is a top board too

Chilli 6'2"
Aloha 6'3"
Warner 6'4"
and 9'1" Barry Bennett for the 1 footers.

Happy with the Chilli and Warner. Those guys know what they are doing. The Chilli is probably the best board I have had over 25 years of surfing.

Mark Richards.

Great service, Mark takes the time to understand your needs and wants.
His boards have a great glass job making them very durable.
And they perform precisely as described. I'll be back for another.
My tag line sucks, can I borrow yours

I only have one, 6'1 x 2 1/16" x 18 1/8" squashtail thruster, not quite my measurements or design specs but I'll fricken tell ya what...

....there's something to be said for 'em.

Sick snappy flex, amazingly light but it doesn't shake or lose momentum like many ultralight type boards. I think the wood parabolic rail stringer has a lot to do with this -- seems to hold the rail line really solid in turns at high speeds. Test rides included 4-5' Teahupo'o and it didn't even blink.

Am writing more about it and the FW operation for ASL in an issue or two so professional ethics holds me back from writing more here, but suffice it to say I am extremely impressed.

at the moment im on a sol-life board by scott crump (gold coast).

Chilli (hated it)
Backyard shaper (was fun)
I have a nirvana by bill cilia, shit it was an amazing board (just too long for a micro midget like myself). i would definatley get another one but i dont think he is shaping anymore. He might have retired, or it might have to do with the neck brace he's in (muscle damage he said)

After 10 years plus of riding Stuart Paterson's boards, first at Force Nine then at PCC, I've tried some other shapers recently. Not due to bad experiences but just to try something new.

My current boards are;
6'2 Shinji Shapes (Shinji Kuramochi) Awesome board, I'm getting another soon.
6'3 Drew Anderson
About five 6'3 PCC's (old, sacrificial lambs for east days at The Island)
6'4 PCC Twinzer - faaast!
6'6 Drew Anderson (currently in 2 pieces) Another fave - hoping it survives surgery.
6'8 PCC
7'2 PCC
7'10 Greg Webber
Got a few bigger boards shaped by Biro (The Brazilian Brewer) but they dont get ridden in Oz.
10'6 Gordon Woods (celebrated it's 42nd birthday this year!)

I'm also waiting on a 6'6 Jim Banks

I've got a thing about using local shapers...always have. Hence the PCC's, Shinji Shapes (he's from Cronulla), and the Banksy (Cronulla Old Boy). I reckon if you work with them you can get a board equally as good as what JS, DHD or any other top line shaper could give you. I know I'm gonna get shot down, but thats been my experience. Plus, it's good to support your local industry.

Shaped by yours truly:
6'1" the ‘mildew’ twinzer (quad thingo?) about to have a new fin set-up due to nasty Nicknack Carroll
6'4" dunno what to call it but it’s got 4 fins (2 reverse dome, 2 normal), let’s just say it’s different
6'8' about as normal as I get
7' bonzer
7'2" performance? mini-mal
7'9" performance? bigger mini-mal (on loan from a client)

Bennett shaped by Sean Wilde (very different design  by our different methodolgy of course):
9' biggest mal

Thought I was going to do my performance (pity about the lack of performance from the rider ) mal 9' 1 1/2" this weekend but looks like a change of plans :x
