Anyone ridden one?

I have one. 5'7 and the original thruster model.

Goes great! Really predictable easy surfing. Fast and seems to have decent amount of lift with the wide squash tail. Seems to be the board I surf most I Sydney.

On the it her hand I got a Monsta and hate it. I don't normally buy JS boards or off the rack but pretty happy with the rev.

I have, don't own one but have ridden one

seemed like a nice undemanding board, covered ground well and didn't mind if the waves weren't v good

general features of the board felt like they would suit a larger person, like the design would tend to improve with more volume.

Thanks guys, ended up with the JS 'dropped Swallow' 5'11" 33.8 ltrs, paid $480 for it S/H with tailpad so quite a bargain imho.

bargain? what condition?

Pretty good, some minor deck dents in the front foot area, that's it. It was the shop owners board, he was too heavy for it -96kg! Anyway, looking forward to riding it.

Nah i got the JS Monsta 2 (older model). It just feels slow off the mark and sloth like, and also feels like there is too much board under my feet (it is a 5'11). Felt like a retro board from the 1990''s haha. I have heard that the Monsta 2 is a bad file and a have had a lot of bad reviews.

Anyway I can only judge off what I have experienced. My standard shortboard is around 5'9 now so that may play a part.

Holy cow, if this JS dropped swallow is not the beez kneez, surely the best board i'v had. Easy to paddle catches waves well and goes like a dog shot up the clacker. I think this may take my surfing places its never been.

Ok, so that earlier comment was a first impression. Yes its great in small waves and has speed to burn, but its uncontrollable in bumpy swell and chatters and skips all over the shop. Took it out in the current 4' swell and its pretty obvious its out of its depth at that size, or I am.

Been noticing during this run of swell that, in Sydney anyway, average level/ intermediate fellas and the odd gal trying to ride small wave (less than 4ft) boards and not really looking to comfortable.

Not saying this is you Spork but just an observation.

From their website it's a summer board, what did you expect from a 20+" wide 5'11" in 4' waves?

True, but I think it was more the chop on the face rather than the size.
