Re: "More" surfboards board porn!
MP, re the bevelled edge: a mate has a kneeboard with a bevel under the rail, although it follows a very deep concave, so the hard rail edge is lower and the bevel sort of flatter, if you know what I mean. Because the outside of the deep concave is rolling down, the bevel sort of forms just a slight lift towards the rail......I probably need to send a pic.
Point is, that thing goes like a rocket and holds a line like nothing else. I've tried to stand on it but it's too wide to surf properly and I can't really get a good feel, however the razor sharp rail with the bevel just looks right. Obviously being a kneeboard it has a very wide tail and I guess it would only work with a wide square or diamond. I'm curious to see how yours go.
By the way, that's a good shot of CC on the swinger, which I think is probably your best all round shape. If only you could get a photo of Kelly riding one...

Re: "More" surfboards board porn!
the kneeboard would have its fins too far forward to stand up surf normally but put 'tiny' fins in it and surf it low and try to do 360's , tons of fun...the bevelled edges and concave combo is working well for my semi-finless stuff but thats a whole different ball game to normal finned surfing...I like the Swinger too, but its too different for most , shame coz its a very FUNctional shape but it does look a bit odd and ya know how majority go on looks , but like you say, if Kelly were to be seen on one, I'd be busy, all of a sudden its not only acceptable but it'd be in high demand...how messed up is that .....

5'7"x 20 7/8" x 2 3/4" Dumpling with crazy yellow and fluro orange spray, thinking of doing a tint over the top of this for a desired effect, see how it turns out....

Sweet, a bit smaller than the usual template. More slippery and less drag is more fun!!!

Re: "More" surfboards board porn!
yep, the others were designed to not spin and drift as easily whereas you have asked to be able to slide and drift all over the shop but while still having a bit of hold and down the line projection...and after the trails I have just tweaked them to what I believe will work best for you, it'll still feel quite slippery at the beginning but you'll suss it out pretty quick I know...too big and you wont spin easily, too little and you'll be surfing a wet cake of soap, the trick is getting the happy medium...but with FCS you can tweak til ya hearts content....

Re: "More" surfboards board porn!
pretty close mate, good guessing..single double with quite a bit of vee out the tail, should be pretty lively for a board this size, as much rocker as I can get outta the curviest longboard blank I know of...
a subtle version of my MOREalease rails in the last foot of tail too, its a custom for a guy who really liked his previous one but he just wanted a bit more life and response...should fit the bill ....
fins are up to him, think he was running a 7" centre fin and larger than normal side fins, maybe about G1000 in size from memory...but he did say he was going to use exact same set up from previous board to begin with, good idea I reckon...too many people play around with different fin combos in the early stages of a newy, reckon people should put a bit of time in to adapt to a board so they can make a more educated choice with fin changes.....bla bla bla....
