Long time no speak gents.

I started working up on the northern beaches a few months ago. Drove past mikes place at brooky and popped in to have a chat with Juan.
They look the goods that's for sure.
With my trip to Indo in June next year, I'm going to get a new good wave board.
Was almost certainly going to get a vskate from grant, but after seeing the good amounts of volume in most of the boards they have on the floor at the moment I'd feel pretty confident that something like a 6'2 Mini Merk or a Russ Short would do the trick.
Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air.

Confession - I've ended up with TSND 7'4 egg. They accepted a better price, it's in better condition than the 6.5/10 would suggest, a couple of dings that haven't been colour matched properly.

Did it on Friday, it happened in a whirlwind weak moment, where someone really wanted an 8' DVS All rounder I had and offered a magic price. I might regret it, that board was magic. Took out the egg on Sunday at one of the local points. I kooked it - but got a few rides and was literally taken by surprise by the speed of it.

I want a bonzer egg real bad - but i think it would be too much crossover with my MLV. What board did you order Davros? my longest wait was 14 weeks...

I'm having a PB Bonzer made, the actual customer service from a design point of view has been awesome from the shaper but they take a while, hasn't hit 14 weeks ......yet.

I reckon the wings on the eggs would be the go after riding one without, just to tighten the arc of the turn.

Mike has spent a LOT of time with MC. Campbell don't give licenses on their life work lightly.

Bonzer fans:

From Campbell Bros insta:

THE DUST BLOWS FORWARD: AUSTRALIA 2015 September 17th to October 8th It's great to be heading back to shape Bonzers in the land that inspired the surfing and shaping of our youth. The boards, and the surfing in Australia in the early 70's set Duncan and I on our course; and in this regard it is a pleasure, and a gift to be building boards there, more than four decades later. I'll be shaping at Rhino Laminating in Manly Vale. Juan and the crew are absolutely top notch, so we'll be producing a batch of Bonzers that are as good as it gets. For ordering and information contact Juan at <[email protected]>

i want an egg...can't afford one...

No Egg mate, had one loved it, bent it out of shape, waiting on new bonzer from PB....this week I hope.

I reckon if I had another one is get the flyers in and maybe not use a True Ames 6.5, bit straight at the back on waves 3ft down I found.

Keen to see the PB - it was Morgan that bought the egg! Yeah the old fin situation can be frustrating with them - i can see why some abandon them. I had to stuff around for ages with the MLV - but patience paid off. What fin will you run in the PB?

A 6.5 Alkali Dolphin, bit different this one the sides are timber, concave deck, never tried timber fins or a concave deck. Picked one up they are really light with the middle "scooped" out, totally different to anything I have had. And I've been told they are super lively and start with the fin pushed back to get used to it.
