Its a jungle out there … and here I sit smack bang in the middle of the whole shit fight … surrounded by an army of internet warriors … you know the type … the type that type tripe … and don't have to lick a stamp to post dribble. One handed console operators furiously banging away at their keyboard … whilst simultaneously banging away at other matters in hand … forget about the monkeys these guys play them off a break.
Mostly harmless most of the time … faceless faeces … pumped full of their own self importance. With a best friend named Google and numerous accounts on adult dating sites … they sit and wait … preying for prey … not like a tiger … but a spider on the web … all arms and legs with an arse bigger than its head. Dishing out opinions like theirs actually matters.
The most dangerous of these in the clueless mod … the self proclaimed gatekeeper of his domain … dishing out debatably dodgy discipline to those who dare to step out of line. Deleting diatribe … doggrel and dribble in one foul swoop … fowl swoop indeed my opinionated fiends.
A necessary evil in this day and age … a necessary weevil particularly destructive to nuts that go against the grain.
Politically correctness-ness gone wrong … probably not. Politically correctness is a term bandied around with far too much gay abandon. Incidentally there isn't to much thats correct about politics … or gay abandon. Opinions and arseholes everyone got them.
But we're not talking about politically corrupt gay arseholes with opinions … we're talking about rouge moderators … yes the difference may seem negligible … negligent even … but its there.
Potatoes have eyes … not dicks … but you can get a dictator. You know the kind that censors free thinking and locks up dissidents whilst throwing away the keys. Fistfuls of computer keys that have a habit of unlocking the dark recesses of insecure minds … causing the vulnerability of being exposed as a pretender. The dictator holds on to his domain through fear … his own fear. Shooting at anything that moves … jumping at shadows … a nervous wreak wreaking vengeance on the innocent and the outspoken alike. At least he doesn't discriminate on that issue.
Moderate … now theres a word with a few meanings. It can mean to maintain a view that is not of the extreme … or to keep within reasonable or proper limits... but it can also refer to the mediocre. A moderate moderator can takes on a whole new meaning … mediocre … half-arsed … lame.
It a shame when people in a position of power abuse the situation … either through hypocritical actions or for self gain. Censorship can be a dangerous path to tread … a quagmire for the thin skinned or narrow minded. Moderators are needed … no doubting that … but they must lead by example. No kooks aloud … aloud or allowed.
