Kelly's 5'11

Post by donniedarko » Mon Dec 15, 2008 8:35 am

Thoughts?

Also on foiled side fins too. Pretty heavy place and circumstance to be 'trying' stuff.

Really good to see Parko take the crown.

ah it wasn't that deep. just a clean single concave, falling out flat through the tail. Pretty flattened rocker throughout, slightly modified by the concave along the rail line. It sorta had some characteristics of a towboard. Tell ya what, that one won't ride another wave, it's creased to buggery, I'm blown out it didn't snap in the final.

Jeez Kelly at least do the marketing boffins a favour and paint them to look like the K3's

and aren't the K3s glass? so why would he need custom glass K3s?

well if you could get some poor bastard to lay up a bunch of layers of glass and then custom foil you a set of fins with exactly the flex where ya wanted it (these were v flexy in the tip then stiffer in the mid and base, I think ks was trying to gain a bit of feel out of 'em to make up for the board's shortness), then ya would.

Early eighties Bill C made quads with flex in last inch of fin..
with a stepped battial, they really worked for me..

some had flier in nose

these boards could deal with most anything got thrown our way.

mostly i remember how good they felt under foot :!:
signatures, finally got it covered.

^^ i've been fooled by the under arm 'feel' on some previous boards  so these days its 'hows it go'

when i was grom, it all about how it feel under arm & spray
signatures, finally got it covered.
