Also i'm surprised no one has mentioned machado yet. Not todays machado but late 90s machado.

Yeah I like Luke Egan's style. It's not that he was such a fluid mover, but more his economy of movement and power with it that added up to style in my books.

luke egan and rob machado make a nice contrast: the butcher with his cleavers and hooks and the painter with his fine camel-hair brush. rob really needs to pay more attention to his attire, though - get out of boardshorts and thongs and into dove-grey suits and patent-leather pumps.

Agree with Wanto about Bobby M. I love the 'lines' he draws but I'm not sure if the way his body moves can be classified as 'good style'.

Besides the obvious names (Curren, Parko), I'm glad someone mentioned Luke Egan. Am I the only one who thinks he outsurfed Occy in that Brunswick section in the Occumentary?? Luke rips and looks good at the same time...

On a slightly different tangent, I love the 70/80's footage of Buttons and Bertleman. Probably not considered 'stylish' by the modern observer but pretty rad none the less.

"The Shanes" (Powell and Herring) deserve a mention too...

Curren
Archy
MP ( at Kirra or Goldy points )
Occ ( some would disagree but I think at Bells or J-Bay , no better )oh, yeah and that g-land footage in Filthy Habits ...epic !
Taylor Knox
Parko ( rare for a young guy to surf smooth and flowing these days )

I saw Cheyne Horan onee time wearing a jacket that said POWER
+ GRACE
+ ATTITUDE
= STYLE
kinda true I reckon as long as the attitude is right...

I think the grace part is critical, its all gotta flow and be nice to watch...

Everyone's got their own style ...

but then again, everyone can sing, too.

Yeah I remember having this argument with you before Nick.

Everyone has their own style, but only a few have style.

Everyone has a voice, but only a few can sing.

Well here's one for you cnuts...

do you think Style is visible from the inside as well as the outside?

ie, claiming Bruce, Curren et al ... you look at them surf and go "yeah! that's Style"...but do you think they can tell?

ie does Style alter the internal surfing experience?
