Re: Any suggestion for choosing a deck grip?
Ive been using then since Glen Winton had a full deck grip...aye the old full deck grip..what a laugh. Anyway Im turning off them big time for many reasons...maybe Im old.
Anyways for a start $50 for something thats not even worth most probably $2 to make...the surf companies have us all bent over on this one ,its a fricken jooooke.
Secondly the arching, wtf is the go with the arching in the middle of the deck?Last time I checked my foot does not go on a perfect 45 degree angle everytime i surf...there a farken hinderance.
And last of all...they are farken getting smaller, . What about us poor bastards with big fark off feet?I have to wax around the grip(mainly on the rails). Oh and they dont even cover ya FCS plugs...what a hoax!
Anyways I use squids and some oam. wax soon

Yeah wack it on , works fine with mine . Sure its wider but your feet generally will find the same positions when riding a wave regardless of the width I reckon.onawave wrote:anyone put a grip on a fish? my old fish i didnt bother, but i just bought a new 5'8 biscuit quad, and im thinking about putting on a grip - but thinking that the tail might be too wide?

If you are fortunate enough to have a board with a work of art sprayed onto the deck by Speedneedle the last thing you want to do is cover it up ..... I scoured the net and found a Blackline tailpad with enough holes in it so I can at least see part of the masterpiece

Alternativley you could try Versatraction .....

Re: Any suggestion for choosing a deck grip?
fark yeah, $60 for a piece of foam? Surely you could DYI with some glue and foamy rubber cutouts? All I want on my fish is the tail pad bit and they are over $25. I'll wax the rest but would still like to be able to feel that tail pad on my back foot when I shove my foot right back. Maybe I'll just build up a cm or two of wax back there

far out, haven't seen or heard of astrodeck for a while - i just got a flashback of a garishly coloured advertisement in an american surf mag from the '90's with a "team rider" featured, popping an aerial.!! whoah!
are they any good pridmore?

Re: Any suggestion for choosing a deck grip?
I recently bought a round tailed board and couldn't believe how hard it was to find a round tailed tail pad.
I had a black/grey one on my Waterskate that a mate gave me years ago, and this time thought i'd look for something a little more colourful.
I didn't want a square or swallow tailed grip as i reckon it looks pretty shithouse. I searched every website i could think of and found the only round tailed pad on the market was the Gorilla Grip Carve... which now only comes in black.

I haven't bought it yet, but have managed to find someone that stocks one... they seem to be rare as rockinghorse shit.
Anyone know of a more colourful round tail pad?
