Sir,

try bali.com - then go to travel forum - up to the minute plus archives that operate on search. Cost is what will determine whether ya hanging at Nyoman and Nyomans at Bingin for around $6 per night or up above at Mick's place for $US70 -supposing you want to stay on the Bukit. My only advice is do not assume there will not be crowds if you go in our winter - last July, every surfer in the world (specially Euros and Brazil Nuts) went to the Bukit 'cause they thought it would not be crowded'. I can remember going to Ulu one morning pre dawn on a mid coming to high and there were 70 guys in car park. Lembogan just as bad, Shipwrecks like Dee Why at 4ft on a Sunday in summer - so have a great time, but don't think it will be a lonely one.

go to bingin, ask about. stay AT the waves. ask for local accomodation right there. get the waves before everyuone arrives for kuta. Same goes for uluwatu. if you want to lessen the crowd and relax you can stay at Belnagan. Not the most perfect hollow wave but can have some empty sessions sometimes. Better than home most of the time. The bigger it gets the better. ALthough if it is small surf near the overhang off the point. sweet. Dodge kuta. ick.

if you want to surf you gotta stay near the waves ie on Bukit Peninsula. if you want to party stay in Kuta. however staying in Kuta will let you get to other breaks further west but these are not close or as good, only less crowded.
