Surf Travel Co / World Surfaris ... value for money?

Post by minimoog » Sat Apr 15, 2006 12:24 pm

Hey guys,

Thanks for some previous help with Indo recommendations, just trying to piece together my trip now, considering going with an 8-day trip with STC for like $1700 + airfare ... are those tours generally good value?

I had a mate tell me once you can hook up boat trips over there for under $500 so $1700 seems steep, but can't find anything much cheaper on the net it seems.

Any comments much appreciated.

Thanks for the tip ... one thing is I'm only going to be able to get a short amount of time off work, so I'd like to at least know the timetables of tours before I book my airfare ... is there anywhere online you can look up the local tours, or a number you can call?

Thanks for the tip ... I found http://doggytheman.com/ through baliwaves ... it's quoting at $600-700AUD ... if anyone else has any other links it would be much appreciated.

The old "you get what you pay for" always seems to ring true ... I guess I sort of knew the local ones would be a bit less reliable, but I ask because the gap between $400 and $1700 is pretty freakin big!

Any recommendations of local guys that have proved to be trustworthy would be much appreciated.

there might be a big gap in price but mate in indo 99 percent of the time over there dearer price means more civilized go to the gold coast if you want that and as for balinse guides and deckies i have surfed more uncrowded waves because of them i cant explain dude stick to your main roads and surf camps because the more people like you give so much more enjoyment for people like us and thats why i have been going back for 37 years
