With regards to spot checking.

When in doubt, head straight out.

still not sure what boards to take, looks like a pretty long, straight S swell.

Toots?

Isn’t it a time away with the family Steve? Take a couple of fun boards and be done with it. You get to live in the most consistent surf zone on the east coast and we’ve had some great waves.
I’m taking a few days to spend with my daughter but thought I’d head west for some quality time.

good call Jimmy.

I'm going to take a 6'3" glassed in fins 80's thruster and be done with it.

it's a family trip, so look out Big Banana.

Pro tip: on the toboggan wait as long as you can at the top to allow maximum room from the slow coach tourist in front so you don’t have to hit the brakes until the very end.

As for me I’ve got a week of boating/fishing on Lake Mac coming up.

I’ve fished the southern part for some years on/off, in a tiny tinny.
My bro has a 5m Savage side console, we won’t be going outside with 4 young kids onboard, but might well put out a few big baits in the channel and see what we can scare up.

Lots of great soft point surf for wife/kids, lots and lots of Ks for me rambling up and down headlands rock fishing.
So, heaven.
