Just saw this.

What about it? Plenty of good walking trails with kangaroos bloody everywhere, plenty of surf options within coo-ee in most winds, beach/rock/creek fishing options, accomodation ranging from tent to big bucks, same with food.

I'm there for 2 weeks from next weekend.

Need some help with quiver Toots.

it's mostly fun in the sun for kids/babe.

what should I bring?

How’s the long range swell forecast?
I’d bring a longboard, fishy thingy and something that will cater to punchy A frames.
You’ve got a handful of backbeach options when the NE blows up.
And fishing gear of course.

cheers Toots, you in the mood to help a brother out with a flathead spot or 2.
what about a headland that holds jewfish?

Will take longboards and mids and see what happens.
Octafish is always a solid small wave choice and can get barrelled in A frames.

I’m the last guy to ask about jewfishing.
On either of those headlands at Emerald and LAMN surely there’s some hanging about.
I do know there’s still tailor and lots of rat kings.
For fun with the kiddies try the creeks/sandflats, plenty of flatties/whiting etc.

Looks like a moderate/strong S swell pulse for the first weekend.

I don't really know that Coffs coast as well as I should, but nowhere is really set-up to handle that type of swell?

Toots?

it'll be close to my birthday and I was thinking of spending it in Motackle.....maybe I'll have to pivot and put surfing on the agenda.

I reckon that's the one thing missing from that coast. A point that can handle south swell at size. Maybe some Sawtell options? Scotch Egg if it's big enough to get in?

Another quality point or two would certainly be nice. Plenty of sheltered (smaller) options if the winds are funky, but no, might have to drive an hour as wyre implies.

not driving there for a south swell.

probs just muck around in close-outs looking for a corner.

With regards to spot checking.

When in doubt, head straight out.
