Does furious wanking help?
asking for a friend.
Curious about furious ... by this are you inferring extremely angry wanking or violently intense wanking ?

Asking for a friend.

Not sure, mister Hunt, one might possibly lead to the other, or vise versa. Remind me to ask my friend when he gets out of hospital.

I’m at radiology for a scan on the shoulder which is probably pointless. Long established I need surgery, but this time around it was first an X-ray and now it’s an Ultrasound. Probably back very soon for the MRI

Clinical notes read;
Painful arthritis left shoulder
Possible supraspinatus tear

I’m sorta scared of surgery. First couple will be relatively minor keyhole procedures, but the eventual replacement has me freaking about infection. Damn Beanpoles fcuking up antibiotic efficacy

Pretty sure Fong went through this.
With his hospital connections he tried something a bit radical. Not sure it worked because I'm pretty sure he had to go under the knife again.

For what its worth swvic concerning an operation verses physiotherapy for a supraspinatus tear, the physiotherapist told me both physiotherapy and surgery have about a 50% success rate so you might as well try physiotherapy first.

Not 100 percent but yoga has been a great thing for me and shoulder issues/injuries
that have plagued me.

Thanks for the concern, guys, but physio told me over 4 years ago there was nothing he could do. I still stretch, but range of movement is definitely diminishing. Surgeon then said a couple of clean outs which might get me two years each and then it’s a shoulder replacement. The main pain issue has been the osteoarthritis. Lots of horrible noises regularly

Sounds worse than what I've had to deal with, swvic, best of luck to you.

Cheers, offy, but except for the toilet paper situation, there’s always someone worse off than me

Yep swvic, just one supraspinatus tear was enough for me to cope with. You have my sympathy.

Oh fuck I’ve stumbled across the most depressing thread here. Physio tells me I have a rotator cuff injury or tear. 3 weeks, probably worse now, no surfing. Finally went to the doctor who basically said he thought it was an AC separation injury or something. Scans on Monday so will know for sure. Either way it can all go to hell. No Autumn or Winter waves which kinda chat.

Thud, it took me a while to realise my GP knew fcuk all and my physio was the expert: they treat 1000s of these sorts of injuries.

Take the scans to the physio if you can, if not just the report, thats all they need.

Thanks for the advice guys. Will follow. Physio is great just need the scans

But my pains top of the back of the shoulder. I should have gone to the “top back shoulder pain” thread.

Definitely doing the rubber bands Buddy. They work,

Hi there, worth checking out this video about shoulder prep and maintenance.

I had a serious rotator cuff injury and a good physio here in DY got me on exercises similar to the ones on the video and I was back in the water in 2 months. I do a similar routine to the video twice a week and shoulders holding good with no pain. I had this pain on the front of my right shoulder like a knife was stuck in there, all gone now.

Yes, the rubber bands are part of the rehab and then pre surf warm up.

Cheers
JON
