Thumb sprain

Post by channels » Sun Mar 04, 2018 7:10 pm

Skating with my boys today, they were padded up, me not so. I chose to stop my board on my last run with my elbows and wrists. Bit of bark lost which is what I felt at the time but now 4 or 5 hours later, appears my thumb took the brunt as I can barely move my thumb or move it without shrieking.

Started the ice treatment, taped it up as per a YouTube vid instruction.

Thinking physio tomorrow, anyone have an idea on rehab/recovery?

Get an x-ray.

Sounds like skier's thumb, but you may need a cast if it is a fracture.

Hands are complex, get professional advice early.
