I have.

really good friend lives in Ennis there.

it's fcuking amazing- I was there in summer, the surf was shite but we cruised around checking out set ups, walking around incredible old ruins and graveyards, drinking the best Guiness I've ever had before or since, going to a massive Hurling match between Clare and Limerick..

The Cliffs of Maher are truly spectacular and Aileens looks like a fun little wave eh?

I also dropped two hits of ecstasy at a BBQ with these two young lads, they call them 'Yolks'. Well I took one, but it didn't seem to work so they insisted I take another. They were heading to some dance party somewhere up the road.

I ended up buckled out of my mind at the old man pub, desperately trying to keep my eyes from rolling as I tried to act cool (my mate already had 2 kids, I was staying with the family), Guiness after guiness not helping my cause. Found some young people to talk to, they were equally unimpressed. the two lads went off hitchiking to the party- I politely declined knowing my bed was about 200 metres away.

made excuses and hightailed it home, to lie there with my mind wobbling like a rebel wilson jelly cup.

Woke up very late, still off-chops but serenely happy to not be lying on some cold Irish floor miles from home.

Oh, and the Chinese takeway was a delightful surprise- chips with your Mongolian lamb?!

get over there it is the real Ireland my friend.

I'd love to go.
Never met an Irishman/woman that wasn't really nice and a good laugh.

Nothing tells you more about a person then them having some romantic notion about irish people all being wonderful.

The Irish are fine loof. Just make sure you pretend you're welsh, not English, and then they won't jizz in your guinness

To tell the truth eggs are one thing I avoid buying when I’m grocery shopping. So you may say I’m an intermittent egg buyer who usually lets someone else buy them.

Steve,

I had a few days in County Clare, around Spanish Point, a couple of years ago. The big downside to this section of the coast is that when the prevailing SW blows it is a pretty straight section of coast without a lot of protection, so can get blownout. There are spots with some shelter, but they can be sheltered also from the swell, depending on the swell direction.

Lots of good spots if the wind is right.

Bob
