Hi I am looking at staying at Fingal Bay caravan park for a few days. As it is right on the water I am hoping it will have some waves no driving and having a surf right on my doorstep would be a holiday.
I am not looking for big waves just some fun chilling out stuff as I am old LOL. Looking at going up after the school holidays Feb/March.
Thanks

My wife goes on and on about Fingal and has a friend who has a unit there they go to. I have surfed it once when there was large swells elsewhere and it was protected and saw a guy getting small waves up the north end last time we were there. Let me know how you go as the missus is keen about the place. The plus is that there is a free shuttle bus to the club which does do ok meals. Lots of nice walks and bike tracks as well so I'm told.

Thanks spoon for the reply I will let you know if I go there.

To the others sorry I should have put this at the end of my post ?

Yes I am one of the older female surfers that occasionally posts here which can be quite intimidating at times but I do brave it from time to time :)

Don't be put off by the warning signs in the Fingal bay beachside car park and along the walking tracks to the beach.

The car park signs warn of thieves in the area. The walking track signs warn of eastern brown snakes. I saw neither when I was last there.

BTW the north end had some nice waves when I was there in January in the 1990's. Apparently back in the 1980's the sand banks lined up perfectly with rides as good as The Pass on a good day - never happened since.

If there are no waves there's always Anna Bay and .... North Stockton... if you're game!

I've surfed around there a bit. Is it Seven mile beach.....or one mile near there?
Surfed off the point at the South end when everywhere else was huge.....probably like this weekend. Was up there in a huge swell with howling southerly and the waves were refracting right around the islands bit to the north and guys were surfing into the sand spit from the north side.
There's a nudist camp up there as well.
