Hawaii to Tahiti, travelling with boards and bike..

Wondering if there are surfable waves someplace you've never visited? Or have you had an injury and want to compare experiences? Do it here!

Hawaii to Tahiti, travelling with boards and bike..

Post by SurfieC » Fri Apr 25, 2014 8:43 pm

Atm i m very busy, so i had no time for RS. But soon and then i go back surfing. Its a great trip. :d
I booked a trip from Germany/Frankfurt on 5 th of May to Honululu. Later i travel then to Tahiti again :-D-: . If somebody tell me about Hawaii..accommodation and all that stuff...

My problem is, i have a lot luggage and also my double board bag. And i like to try my racing bike to put it in or on the board bag as well. To have just one piece. Because i travel with 3 different Airlines.
Condor, Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines. Someone traveled also with this airlines maybe or traveled with both, Boards and bike. But if you put it together with one piece and its the correct size and weight, could be working maybe. Because to travel with 3 different airlines and extra 2 piece board and bike, its expensive. Thanks for helping...

I would check but Alaskan could be an issue and may charge you a fair bit in excess depending on the type of ticket you are travelling on. I used to travel a lot on Alaskan and they are often the smallest planes they can get away with and charge fairly hefty for excess.

Forget the bike.

As it is, my understanding is all those airlines royally screw people for surfboards.

Find out before you go.

Maybe take one board.

Buy a cheap second hand bike or one from Costco when you get there. You'll be way in front.

The trip you have planned looks like quite reasonable mate. Surely you should be going to it and i guess its gonna be a lot of fun for you.
According to the way i feel it all can go well finely.

This is my favourite.
