Norfolk Island

Post by steve shearer » Thu Jan 02, 2014 8:41 pm

three sixty degrees of reefbreaks, points and a barelling left that looks like Ulus. Hall of fame rockfishing, volcanic soil, dying tourist industry.

House and land on acreage for under three hundred grand.

Is there a good reason not to move there and start a new life.

Oh yeah, no taxation.

Aren't all the residents there a bit too close genetically, if you know what I mean? Or is that Pitcairn Island?

Doesn't sound like a bad idea otherwise but what'd you do to earn a crust? I heard the economy was way in the shitter.

Isn't that the place you have to have some genetic links to the original residents to be able to buy property?

The link in the YouTube vid does make it look like Ulus on a small day, with the same glassy blue hue.

More waves for the rest of youse all?

A mate worked on Norfolk Island for a bit on a project. He did say it was quite insular. And yes, its economy is in the crapper. There are a few articles in the Fairfax press that covered this.

I'd say you would be diced and fed to the sharks before you could say sashimi.

Let's face it, the latter scenario is far more likely.
Lets face it ... forget about the flies ... the yokels would have you tied to a barrel and be lording over your ring in no time ... squeal like a mainlander boy.
The moving finger writes and having writ moves on ... now all thy piety nor wit shall lure it back to cancel even half a line ... nor all thy tears wash out a single word of it.
