Head to Mammoth instead
There's still so much snow in California. I'm going splitboarding in late June and July. A friend is planning a backcountry skiing trip in August.

The problem with Perisher (and Threbo, Falls etc), is that a) it's really expensive and b) it's really crap compared to anywhere half decent.

Europe always looks bony even when they have a good season.

That spine to skier's left of the lift looks fun.

Current predictions are another winter of above average precipiatation for California.

I really enjoyed snowboarding even though I found it bloody hard. My boy is itching to go again so a trip is definitely on the cards

Yeah I know, but I stand by my statement.

Mammoth opened last week, actually slightly later than normal. But they'd only been closed for 2 months.

I'm planning on doing more back country this season. And I'd like to get to Taos or Big Sky.
Family stuff is chewing up my leave though.

Mrs gave me (well she will pay) new sticks. I just ordered Moment Wildcat 190. My old ones were fine but when I said I wanted a supercap bag instead she got offended. I'll buy the bag myself.

No. Place I'm going there's little need, won't be touring. And a little more heft suits how I like to ski.

I meant for a difference from your existing ones.

Ah right. In reality I will never again travel with a quiver so I more just need a single do-it-all ski each time. Not that a 190cm 118mm ski is do-it-all, but it suits me in my dotage (turn as little as possible, just go fast). I have had super light equipment in the past and it's great for climbing but disconcerting on the down and especially when things get choppy.
