I was riding a poma yesterday. It stayed shut a while after recent storms because they had to dig it out. The second poma higher up the mountain I skied past and the lower lifty station was so deep only the roof was showing.

Why can snowboarders switch stance like there's nothing to it? For most surfers it feels retarded.

Lack of moving water? It’s actually pretty easy. Same with skateboarding. I’m pretty confident going switch on a snowboard or skateboard, but can’t surf switch to save my life.

The boards and stance are bidirectional.

If you watch closely though they don't often turn or change edge while riding switch, just aim at the next takeoff point with a fairly flat board.

Powder riding is harder switch, for sure.

Stance and weight distribution. Lean too heavily on your back foot snowboarding and you’ll just spin circles.

I'm thinking that when they first take off downhill for the halfpipe , that's when you can tell if they're goofy or regular?
Unbelievable flips and spins going on in Korea right now. I guess that's something like a huge version of what Kelly's Ranch is attempting to offer to the surfing world,
It did look to me like very often when they would fall, it seemed to happen more when they were going with their opposite foot forward.

Bores the shit out of me. It’s like watching repetitive gymnastics.

There's just nothing so inscrutable as a moving wave coming in from an open ocean.

‘But there is an Australian in it, so we will only show snowboarding for 5 hours and then repeat it the next day. No one is interested in sports that don’t have australians’
