Blizzard conditions. Pow. Only lower mountain open but that's 800m vertical of sustained fall line through old growth forest. Stuffed.

One day of no snow forecast in the next ten days.

Bombing woke me. 20cm overnight on the car across the road. Still coming down moderately.

Another pow day. Heavily wind affected up high but in the trees and on lee slopes effectively bottomless.

Get to the interesting part of the trip please, like what IPA is on tap and how you couldn't finish it so you offered it to the redhead sitting next to you who looked a bit like lilo etc 😀

Pow day today. Last run through trees was sick. Big pillows, fallen trees from the recent storms forming ramps. Steep and fast through widely spaced old growth trees.

Pillow runs are the best.

So much snow today. Only lower mountain open but there are plenty of options. Steep trees bouncing over avy barriers buried so deep they are just big gentle pillows with ~1m drops on a 40°+ slope. Triggered one decent soft slab about 20m wide by 20cm up where the wind had loaded things up more. Not many others in the trees despite plenty of people with all the bling gear in the gondy. I only lasted 4.5 hours but I took the lion's share of the best lines so I'm happy.

I'll try and find something interesting. Here's the bedroom window view. Gondola is above the lamppost, bit hard to see. We need to cross the creek to get to the lifts, about a 500m walk.

Lower mountain before a week of snow. This is about 1/20th of available lift accessed terrain on the lower mountain. I couldn't guess the fraction of total terrain when the upper mountain is open. There's two other areas that haven't been opened yet, over the back and across the border. Gondy line clearing is visible top left with a few avy barriers at the top. That's been a popular line but only really allows a couple of clean runs.

Somewhere up there you can take a lift to 3800m and then ski down to 1200m. I doubt the conditions will be suitable while I'm here but there were quite a few tracks when we passed by before the storms.

Snowfall out the other bedroom window probably two nights ago. Not sure, it's snowing every day.
