Otway is reporting he has had to use a hair dryer the last few mornings to melt the frost in the door locks so they can get out of the house.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Hakuba was a bit like that in 2000, all these ghost buildings full of furniture that were left over from the Nagano Olympics.

I won't have much time in Tokyo, unless I pass one on the way to something else it's unlikely.

I've decided to turn my old powder board into a splitboard.
Going to get it water jet cut, if possible.

Didn't split the board.

Arrived in Iiyama tonight, there's a foot of fresh.
Head up to Madarao tomorrow, hopefully my board will be waiting there for me. The hotel said they won't be able to pick us up because there'll be too much snow.

One warm day and one powder day so far.
About 40cm last night and another 10cm or so throughout the day. Was waist deep on some runs, and thigh deep in the trees.
Been taking it pretty easy as I've still got another 10 days.

8:30 to 4:30 with a half hour for lunch. No pauses, ride straight to the lift.

Unless I'm with Mrs Boo or the Boolings, then there's much faff. Same hours, but many stops and about 5-6 hours of riding.

A mate is in Japan skiing at the moment. No shortage of snow, he reckons.
