North Shore is pretty good that time of year if your balls are big enough.

Tahiti, Pohnpei, North facing Samoan coastlines....., PNG, Solomons

mid-north coast NSW

Indo has it's moments if you can deal with wall to wall Euro's who think surf etiquette is some kind quaint new world notion.

It depends on your taste according to me, i mean what place you like visiting and you find reasonable for you in all the terms like figuring the fact.Your preference is nature or seeing water, hills or greenery and then according to that the place should be chosen.

Bumping this, I've got a few weeks off beginning Christmas eve, but can extend it a week or 2 at either end.
Trying to decide where to go outside Oz, somewhere quick and easy, just minimum flights and land travel.
East coast Bali, Lombok but I didn't think much of the waves during dry season when I was there, but can fly direct from Perth.
The other possibility is Philippines. Have some mates trying to get a trip together, if they do I'm going with them. If not then I'm not going by myself until I know the ropes there. Any other wet season suggestions for a quick hit and run?

Yeah, I'd need a snow plow to push through the people on the beach

Didn't Jetstar cancel their direct flights from Perth to Lombok?

Indeed they have Pet, I only discovered this when I went to check prices. Lombok turned out not to be the tourist bonanza they had hoped for.
It's only a straight up and straight down cheap Wings flight from Bali anyway if we really want to go there.
Got my flights booked for Bali, will be east coasting. Mates going to Phillipines are too unorganised so I'm doing my own thing.

Jetstar should have promoted the flights as going to the Gilis instead of Lombok. I guess Lombok will be spared the tourist hordes for now.

I don't know what the price is now but Wings used to charge IDR 200k per board. And they actually asked me to open my board bag to prove that I only had one board in it.

In my experience Wings flights have a tendency to be delayed. A flight from Lombok to Sumbawa was cancelled when I was in the waiting room.
