I've reckoned that for years now.
If you can't get something at a better price thanin duty free with a bit of shopping around you aren't trying.
Except maybe grog.

I had a recent stop over in Singapore. Duty Free spirits were like 40% cheaper there than duty free in Australia.Event through Europe duty free grog seemed cheaper than our rip off prices. USA same deal.

Last time I did duty free I also hit the cosmetics section and doused myself in as much expensive cologne and man body products that I could manage. Great for the next long haul red eye flight.
