I have a website - what do you think?

I just spent a couple of days on the reno of this: http://havenvietnam.com/ - it looked a fair bit different before. I don't know computer language and just did it with BaseKit Builder, which pretty much allows you to drag and drop and click a bit and you're away. It's what the original owners of our place used to begin with. I'll be adding and changing things as the inadequacies of what I've done are pointed out to me, so any feedback from Realsurfers will be most welcome. Cheers fellas.

Good start, Al. I'd have a bigger version the Haven logo at the top of the page. Also, as you get them, add a few more photos. Get some of us to give testimonials about how great it is and how wonderful the hosts are. You write it and I'll put my name to it

The fact that guests will be greeted with smiles and waves is excellent marketing. Do you think I'll need a 6'2" or will my 5'9" cover it?

Edit: Sorry Al, there's more photos than I first thought because I didn't do the links. Also, I just did a currency conversion. 38 bucks for the deluxe suite with breaky is a bargain. Nick would be happy with the room with a writing desk for just $32.67 a night. He should visit and write a book

Maybe a link to a currency converter? 750,000d reads like a lot of money. I got 2 million from the ANZ bank in Hanoi because I couldn't get more. Was a good thing because it was the biggest wad I've ever had, but I had nowhere to put it all

Edit 2: Read through it all and my impression is; Fcuk, Al, I really want to visit. Maybe one day I will

You've done very well Al, lots of info there.
You've definitely made it clear that your place is not like most areas frequented by western tourists in Vietnam.
It had the desired effect on me, and i've been to Vietnam.
The only suggestion I have is maybe a few more pics of the building/accom from a distance so people can see what the place looks like.

Al, it looks lovely and I really take my hat off to you for getting up and doing it.

The only thing that I'd say is that your current website pics are all a bit arms length. They don't really showcase Haven to its best advantage. I had a quick look at the Facebook page and some of the 'breakfast/beer on the terrace with the gorgeous view/sunset in the background' really place the prospective visitor at the heart of what your place seems to be about, so I'd go with a few more of that type of thing. (For example, there's a few shots on the Telo Island Lodge website of surfboard on manicured lawn, bloke leaning against palm tree, nice right peeling off that have me twitching at my credit card every time I look at them and to hell with the job and family responsibilities.)

Oh and on the 'About' page, I'd redo the list. I think people tend to skip over lists; it all just becomes a blur of text. Actually, I'd probably take it out of the About page altogether, create a new 'What to do' page and use captioned pictures instead.
