Not worth the pain, they remember that kind of shit for years:

fast forward tens years

Mrs Squidly Lips: "Don't you remember on the 20th of Jan 2007 I sat on the beach, and it was cold and raining and I filmed you surfing"

Mr Squidly Lips: "Yes"

.... pain, pain and more pain ;)

p.s  sorry but "Mrs Squidly Lips" justs sounds wrong
If it's well engineered it's beautiful .

yeah, for sure. banks are always a bit fickle tho.

if its over 4 ft and clean the left normally produces the goods, also across the rocky channel a decent right a bit further out can cook.

Does that left hand bank at Gunna straight out from the carpark still fire?
The one with a few rocks in the mix...
Haven't seen it for 10 years or more, but it always used to cook in the above conditions...
Looks like you Viccos may be due for a visit..
Yeah mate it still fires.

I reckon the one at the far carpark is better though. You still get the nice strong rip taxi straight out to the breaks on your right or left.

Light onshore and a decent swell and it's bloody awesome.

I cancelled getting my cars brakes fixed to catch this so if you see some out of control VP Commodore dogbox parked into a fence at the carpark you'll know it's me!

Depending on the size of the swell I'm going to check Flinders first, low tide due around 7am, so on a good swell and good wind and it's going to be great.

I don't bother with Gunna if it's pushing 6ft, it's a bit much to handle on a mini-mal.

Another Mexican checking in. What are the banks like at Gunna on the low tide? I'm excused from family duites only for the morning. Tuesday - already secured a flexy - will be heading to the surf coast.

Swell hit 6ft+ at Portsea today but appears to have backed off again according to mates. Buoy readings support this too. Would still expect waves of up to 6ft tomorrow morning, but probably no bigger. There's banks everywhere at the moment, but the Gunna to Rye stretch seems to have been best of late.

Both. I'm in Melbourne - usually surf Wollamai in summer and the reefs around Torquay in winter, although on Tuesday I'll be checking a certain, less well known spot, near a surf club.
