This is what happens when you're busy, you go away for a week, cannot recognise the thread, 9 mile point, yeah I do surf at Mona a bit (look for the kook on the afterburner, usually at mid)

another reason I started posting was the randomness of it all, I just just say non-sensical crap & no-one cares..........it's nomal :)

That's actually a bitter sweet comment you've just made. It's really just a poor excuse for a pathetic antithesis.

I started on this forum not long ago but had been checking the reports for about a year. Thought the forums were kinda like Penthouse or something but boy was I wrong!? Only joking. Nah I started posting cos I'm useless at face to face communication skills and have always found it easier to convey my point through the written word. I also love the anonymity involved as I reckon people can open up and be more truthful. The differences of opinion on here are great too. It'd be a f@#ken boring world if we all thought the same.

This wasn't the first forum i'd signed up to. I'd participated on a couple others previously. But yeah i must've seen a thread where i really wanted to have a say, and once you've been bothered to sign up to one forum, you know how easy it is. So yeah i just got started. It's nice how its so, oh what's the word, local? (Maybe not). But yeah we're by and large a Sydney crowd, or an East coast crowd, or Aussies in general. Which is cool i think, considering forums are open to worldwide participation.

As good a place as any for a 1st post!
Actually, been a daily visitor to the site since '99 and regular forum viewer since day one - just never really felt the need to add my 2 cents. Always been a good read, lots of laughs and though-provoking at times too.

Been using Realsurf since '01 but didn't start posting until a few months ago as I had time on my hands due to not being able to surf (surfers ear op) and getting a job in a non draconian work environment that seems to tolerate some degree of personal internet usage. That and like the rest of the motley crew that makes up these forums I can happily bullshit about surf related minutiae for hours

(a) Because Tracks lost me when it went glossy

(b) Because I got tired of the seppo bullsheet on OS forums

(c) It's local and there's a good mix of people from all walks

oh and

(d) After working with online communities (not surfing) for a fair bit, it's just great to read about people pumped up about surfing.

Ahhh Coops@DropYourundies, your inclinations are showing. Infitisemally small tho they most certainly are. Im sure you stand tall with NC when riding that float down Pitt street each year.

Wow, how profound, your intelligence amazes me. I guess this is your only way of communicating with others, that thread must have taken you quite some time to put together and I expect no-one is going to want to wait around while you try to piece together such an insightful statement.
