Why did you start posting here anyway?

This is what happens when you're busy, you go away for a week, cannot recognise the thread, 9 mile point, yeah I do surf at Mona a bit (look for the kook on the afterburner, usually at mid)
another reason I started posting was the randomness of it all, I just just say non-sensical crap & no-one cares..........it's nomal

I started on this forum not long ago but had been checking the reports for about a year. Thought the forums were kinda like Penthouse or something but boy was I wrong!? Only joking. Nah I started posting cos I'm useless at face to face communication skills and have always found it easier to convey my point through the written word. I also love the anonymity involved as I reckon people can open up and be more truthful. The differences of opinion on here are great too. It'd be a f@#ken boring world if we all thought the same.
This wasn't the first forum i'd signed up to. I'd participated on a couple others previously. But yeah i must've seen a thread where i really wanted to have a say, and once you've been bothered to sign up to one forum, you know how easy it is. So yeah i just got started. It's nice how its so, oh what's the word, local? (Maybe not). But yeah we're by and large a Sydney crowd, or an East coast crowd, or Aussies in general. Which is cool i think, considering forums are open to worldwide participation.

Been using Realsurf since '01 but didn't start posting until a few months ago as I had time on my hands due to not being able to surf (surfers ear op) and getting a job in a non draconian work environment that seems to tolerate some degree of personal internet usage. That and like the rest of the motley crew that makes up these forums I can happily bullshit about surf related minutiae for hours
(a) Because Tracks lost me when it went glossy
(b) Because I got tired of the seppo bullsheet on OS forums
(c) It's local and there's a good mix of people from all walks
oh and
(d) After working with online communities (not surfing) for a fair bit, it's just great to read about people pumped up about surfing.

Wow, how profound, your intelligence amazes me. I guess this is your only way of communicating with others, that thread must have taken you quite some time to put together and I expect no-one is going to want to wait around while you try to piece together such an insightful statement.kreepykrawly wrote:I had something to say.
