Hey there,
Just stumbled across this website and found this picture from my homeland in the NE England.
Yes, there it does get surf and it can actually get pretty good. It is bloody freezing though with swells coming down past iceland/norway - gloves, boots, 5mm wetsuit and SAS style balaclavar are orders of the day!

Thought I'd resurrect this thread briefly. The North East of England faces the North Sea. Haven't you ever seen pics of the storms around there - they even worry the oil rigs. A couple of years ago we drove up the east coast of Scotland and there were good waves from Stonehaven to Aberdeen. Very good looking stuff around Dunnottar Castle which sits on a rock just off the coast, connected by a shingle beach.
