After Kalaka-knackerz recent post- Are ya superstitious about anything? If so what and why? And, whaterya do ta beat counter the superstition? This should be good!

waves breaking in a predetermined way? The fatalistic ocean? this could get deep.

Superstitions.......If I take a leak at the start of a set on a good day then I'm gonna get a nice one.

I don't believe in superstitions, it's bad luck. (I think a boxer said that a little while back).

Most of the time I know that I will get flogged if I paddle out on a big day. It just happens and you have to deal with it.

When you a sitting there during a big lul someone always has to sacrifice themselves and paddle in to try and catch a smaller one. It seems that the ocean senses it and immeadiately sends in a set to swat them down. Same with the one more waves thing, if you don't say it then it will be ok and you will get a wave. Then you start thinking what if the ocean can read minds and can tell I have already thought it and will switch off anyway.

Yeah mate, gets you every time doesn't it. There really is no avioding it. You just have to face up to it and realise it is always going to happen i guess. You just can't go in when it is still going off.

i ALWAYS put my leggie on so that it wraps inwards - not outwards...
if i'm surfing well, i will leave the same coat of wax on the board, no matter how old it gets - i'll just keep combing it...
if i'm surfing shit, then i'll strip the coat off & put a new one on, no matter whether the wax is the problem or not - most of the time it isn't.

on the peeing issue...it seems whenever i need to do a pee, a set comes !
i use this to my advantage in lulls, i pee...then a set comes !

Nice work there Baldric. We all have to make some sacrifices. It's not all that hard to keep the other half happy is it. Just takes a little thought and effort here and there when it's flat and all your hassles are gone.

I'm with you guys on takin a leak. Sometimes when I'm ridin to the beach with me wetty on I feel the urge to take a leak, I'II just do one as I ride along. Never fails I have a bad surf. The other is litterin. If I drop a placky bag, for sure waves will not come when I have time available. Also, I cannot go passed any coins I see on the road. I must pick 'em up. Otherwise, I not takin the luck presented to me and huey will say stuff ya then!

im not that superstitious, cept i do have a favourite tea-spoon and we have 2 types of desert spoons - i only ever use 1 4 ice cream and the other 4 cereal.
oh and i wish id never EVER seen the movie 'what women want'....
