Why post the Bali photos?

Post by Bear » Thu Sep 29, 2005 2:47 pm

What do you think about all these bali surf report photos going on the pictures area... I personally dont think they are needed as I am wanting to see pictures of the current surf conditions etc.
There are boards like this and picture areas for people to put photos...
Agree or disagree?

1) its depressing with this flatspell

2) there are too many of them considering they are irreleveant for a large number of us

3) they are always posted late so we have to scroll through about 7 photos before we get the photos that are relevant to us.

maybe if they had a prominent seperate link it would be ok, but i think they are useless and annoying how they are at present

I am with the rockster. The bali pix give me something to dream about.

I do wonder why we have a dive report. It makes no sense.

are you serious? then please don't read surf mags, watch DVD's or anything inspiring to make you want to get out and explore what's out there, stick to looking at your onshore local

1 or 2 is fine to drool over.. definately great waves to imagine yourself on while it's flat. But yeah, I agree Jamoe.. definately a few too many of them hogging our precious northern beaches space :'(

I think there great, I like to see somewhere someone getting good waves each day.

More interesting than a grey picture of Sydney dribble.

I also think that 1-2 Bali photos are OK but shouldn't dominate like they have been for the last few days.

It's probably more a case that the local (ie. Sydney) photographers should post more photos to correct the imbalance.

If that was for my previous comment, DVD's etc are inspiring and you can learn from them. Sure seeing someone else getting good waves is great but day after day as a fill-in???? I ask ya....
Ps If directed elsewhere then ignore this please bro :)

they do seem a bit irrelevant where they are now... even though i'm in sth korea and hanging to hit bali next week for a couple of months...

why do they get to post photo's without a report of the conditions? i agree with bear that there are other places for photo's like these... not sure about the flagrant web plug either...

Ah, was that you I dropped in on?

PS: Cool avatar. I was always rather sympathetic for Beaker. He always got the rough end of the pineapple.

I'm amazed it's so freakin perfect every freakin day! So that's been enlightening for me. I didn't know it was so consistant.
You don't think they're using photoshop to retouch the waves like they do super models in the magazines, do you?
Maybe it's really 2 foot mush and they "digitize" it to perfection to brainwash us into a hypnotized wave-starved stupor....at which point their logo can be branded into our brains. Like the way cocaine used to be put in Coca Cola.
