Language is always going to evolve mate. Our current use of english is suiting us as a society more as it is more fast and hurried! I teach a bit at uni and marking some people assignments where they do right with modern slang and use "U" instead of 'You' is just terrible.
Id luv 2 go bak b4 txt sms mean dat u write like dis, but f8 seem 2 not want dis!!

There should be a comma between 'evolve' and 'mate'.Bear wrote:Language is always going to evolve mate. Our current use of english is suiting us as a society more as it is more fast and hurried! 'english' should have a capital E.
'people' should be 'people's' .
'right' should be 'write'.
And you reckon your students are terrible?

:? who cares
on the topic, i found a video not so long ago, funniest stuff, a guy goes up to all these girls n tries to pick em up using the "internet/sms slang". For example, instead of laughing he actually says "lol", and not spelling out the letters l-o-l, he says it as one word. "have i c-n letter-u letter-b number4??" "u looking s-x-c" and heaps of other stuff, ill try and find the link for ya's later
