Good job Wanto, i was thinking of a similar comp earlier this year, however unfortunatley I dont have the IT skills to make it happen.
I imagine that the objective is to have as many participants as possible, I believe it may be practicle to make betting less time consuming i.e. rather than picking the winner of each heat, you could select who you think will win & who will fill places 2-8.
The present fromatt will only attract those with access to the net throughout the entire day, whereas you can select the top 8 place getters in 2 minutes a week before the comp starts.

Wanto, just found a formatt used for F1 tipping comps.
Each contestant must nominate their top 8 finshers with submissions prior to the 1st heat.
For the purposes of this comp only the top 8 finishers count. No-one exists outside the top eight so if you pick the top 8 and your #8 pick finishes 9th, you will not get points.
5 points will be awarded for a correct pick.
2 points will be awarded if you miss your pick by 1 place (eg, you pick Parko for 6th and he actually finishes 7th or 5th).
1 point will be awarded if you miss your pick by 2 places
