Thursday 26/02/04, 11:40am:

There's 3 guys on mals out at Neilsen Park !!!
They're doing a lot of paddling - but not catching much.

I'm veiwing through binoculars from office window at Darlinghurst.

From a great distance sets look about 1.5 feet of swell, but none of them seem to be breaking.

There's about 2 feet of wash breaking on the point behind them - probably too close to the rocks.

On the jetcat trip over this morning, south head was too washy.

The 'bro surfed a messy Manly last night, and got cleaned up a few times - not many quality rides. It was amusing watching about 15 guys dodging washy crumbling sets breaking all over the shop.

12:02pm - 8 guys at Neilsen park now !!

2 guys got one wave, a straight-hander, about 2 foot of full wash for about 20 metres, then it died out.

south head is getting bigger, still messy, but wrapping right around 270 degrees now.

nothing is working on the northern beaches. even brownwater was crap.

if it sorts itself out overnight tonight might be good tomorrow morning.

all the harbour action is on the south side - out of the wind & chop.

there is almost a rideable reform wave around the corner from south head, at HMAS Watson, or a loooong paddle from camp cove.

bodyboarded in the basin at mona vale this morning...pretty big but just not working right. warriewood looked insane. even collaroy was real big. the reefs were all over the place out at longy. turned around and went up past the bends... newport reef looked almost rideable...av was breaking about half a km from shore... kiddes was big. ended up grabbing my surfboard and getting a tiny wave just inside pittwater near the lighthouse...swell was wrapping all the way around into that little beach near the golf course on the pittwater side. the far side of pittwater had a good few feet of swell and i could see some whitewater but couldnt tell if it was rideable waves......just went out on my lunchbreak and looked at av...it doesnt look as big but id say its the tide.

Forresters was just a huge mess this morning. Avoca, Macs or the haven might be the shot. Hargreaves even?!!
Will have to wait for tomorrow though. Will you get home in time for a late one Matt? Where's your pick?
