No, the nut on the kingpin



If it's too tight then it doesn't turn as much because the bushings are compressed.
If it's too loose then the board is hard to control.

I have built-in bearings with spacers on the inside of the wheel, and speed washers either side.

I can go hulk on the bolts in the wheels without affecting the roll.

Oh of course.

Interestingly though, he majority of the entries I read about tightening wheel bearings assumed tightening the wheel nuts altered the "drag" of the bearings.

I don’t know anything about skateboards, but if you have spacers between the inner races of your bearings then you can tighten the nut fully. The outer race still floats on the balls.
If you do this and the wheels feel tight then the outer bearing race has not seated into the wheels properly.

I did confuse bushings and bearings so you and I were talking about different things as I was always talking about bearings not bushings. In fact it didn't even register with me that you typed "bushes" I just read it as bearings.

Especially as your the first sentence of your paragraph started talking about wheels, as did your second sentence, but that suddenly switched, mid sentence, to bushings. I failed to pick up the change of topic. I took the whole paragraph to be about the wheel bearings. Hence the confusion.

Here it is:

Oh, and last excuse, bushings are sometimes called plain bearings, plain bushings, or sleeve bearings.

30 bucks each.
