I don't, although it may seem that way. I just maximise what spare time I have, and create opportunities for myself ( example get up super early to go surfing, or hit the gym ). I've hardly skated in the past eighteen months. Just got the urge again. Carving up bowls is good cross training for surfing too.

Great to keep the mind focussed. I pretty much just street skate badly and the whole bowl/ramp stuff is too gnarly for me, and I'm shit at it. Still keeps hips and ankles flexible and 100% is good for your surfing I think.

After having time off, the first thing you quickly have to remember is that you're not on water. Meaning, don't try and plant your backfoot through the back of the lip, like a vertical re-entry. Instead, it's fkn concrete, so ease up a little, and push off it (not through it), or you could fk yourself up.

Ah, I didn't know there was a skate park out that way. Will have to pop by the next time I'm in the Shire.

I can't believe what gets built for kids these days. "IN MY DAY" we had to steal building materials and build our own dodgy ramps. Incredible

Totally. Growing up there were next to no facilities. Skating ramps meant thieving from building sites at 2am to build your own dodgy ones, up in the bush, or someone's backyard.

^^ Not to mention the unsuccessful petitions and hassling of local councils to build something, anything for kids to skate on. Now you can't move for skate parks :-?

Yep. We also did the same thing. Petition with signatures etc. nada nothing zip.

You couldn't get the council to put a rogue magpie down, let alone build a skatepark

Should have sent the petition to yourself

Well that's what it boiled down to in the end.
