......... was a little taste of the seventies for all you kiddies who’ve been wondering what it was like. Now if the jet stream is right we should get a clean strong southerly swell every week from now to September…….then you would really understand....... but I’m not holding my breath.

just looking at your beach today Nick ... a week ago you couldn't see the pipes but now they're hanging suspended. There's got to be a lot of new banks out there somewhere

Reckon it's a good predictor of big swells -- watch how much sand's built up on your local beach. Specially in May. If the beach is gagging on sand around this time of year, you know it's gonna get cleaned out soon.

gamblers use that theory, the theory of it hasn't come yet so it has to come soon

Still need to lose around 1.5m off most beaches here to bring us back to the levels of 25 years ago.

Well it's nealy a week and a south swell looks like coming in right on time so we'll see, maybe we are in for a solid winter!

I must say that last weekend the banks at my local (Northern beaches) break stopped closing out for the first time in months. That big swell has obviously helped.
