Adjustable Surfboard project

Hi, I am an A-level student working on a project. The basic idea is a surfboard that can be adjusted depending on the wave conditions. This could be useful for travelling when you only have space for one surfboard, but conditions are uncertain. This will ensure you do not get caught out with 3ft waves with a shortboard. Hopefully keeping you surfing for longer.
I have attached a survey which it would be amazing if you could complete. It will only take a minute of your time.
Thanks so much.

Before receiving the inevitable deluge of abuse from the bunch of weirdos who post here, it’s worth having a little search on this site by author for SURFFOILS. Also worth a general browse on swaylocks.com as well. Can’t be arsed to do your survey though. Sorry

You can't go around claiming to be an A level student or anything else for that matter ... the fact that you've popped your head into this little corner of the internet's kind of proves that your a little bit simple. I wish you luck with your endeavours, what colour is this surfboard going to be ?

5 fins is ideal
And everyone knows green boards go the best

See if you can incorporate some sort of time travel device as well. A small round one about the size of a legrope plug would be ideal - you could embed it into the foam somewhere between the fins. Would be very handy for those of us who find today's line-ups too crowded for comfort.

Oh, slipped my mind completely until now but absolutely essential: a mini gatling gun - for shooting the curl and blasting any annoying surfers or baggage handlers who might get in your way.

Also a speaker setup that broadcast a warning siren and “My Wave” on loop.

The adjustable surfboard is a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.

The key design challenge is that you're going to need to add rigidity to keep the sections together, and that's probably going to be in places where you don't want it.

The Pope bisect is a place to start, and Swaylocks as already mentioned.
There was a guy called Nicholas Notara who made a carbon fibre board with different tail pieces, I think he called it a modular surfboard. I think it was for a graduate design project. I remember thinking that the website and the marketing were a lot better than the board itself.

Maybe work on some kind of suction cup fin system, so we can stick em anywhere we want.
