I haven't watched the whole event, but from what I saw, there didn't appear to be anyone truly elite on their backhand this year.
No one in the league of Kelly at his best, Andy and Bruce, JJF, Jack Robinson etc.

I felt the goofies like Owen and Gabe who were deserving finalists were a level above.

I'm happy to be directed to some heats that show otherwise, though.

how's the points gap between first and second. 10,000 for a win, 7800 for second, the biggest gap there's ever been. It's been throwing the year around since Snapper.

If Gabriel had won that final he'd be leading the rankings right now.

Because he won two, JJF's still fifth even though he hasn't competed for two events straight and had to pull out of Rio halfway through.
