Well it's finally on again after lay days and now on hold at 7.30am due to FOG............the surfers are in the water I think but you can't really see anything. This just makes these events a broadcasting nightmare - the format has to change for everyone to get a better deal.

Fcuk, how do you think I feel? I was out there. It's a disgrace I tell you. A disgrace!!

btw watch for a pile of "I told you so" on various sites etc for not running some stuff yesterday when it was 3-4' and sunny.

the girls comp is fun to watch. 17 surfers, much shorter event from start to finish. can even make the heats 5-10 mins longer with much less of them to run.

once they wipe out the ridiculous non elim round 3, it will be, dare I say it. perfect.

is it just me or is this Bells comp over-promising and under-delivering. I'm not paying much attention so my perception is probably faulty but every time I glance casually at the forecast it seems to be like days of bombing Bells and every time I tune in......it seems kind of weak and the surfing very much to script.

which was why Margies felt like such a breath of fresh air. Every one was expecting fat burgery Margs and JJF just went out there and redefined modern surfing.

This Bells just seems utterly predictable and formulaic.

Big set just came through. JJ out next with Mick Fanning. I liked the glassy days but it's the smooth surfing that suits it best.
